IAPMO’s Policy Priorities:
Water Efficiency & Infrastructure
More and more countries around the world, including the United States, face high levels of water stress and aging infrastructure. Sounds policies are needed to protect America’s drinking water.
Water Quality
The U.S. has one of the safest water supplies in the world. However, emerging issues such as lead, legionella, and PFAS are challenging many communities. More needs to be done to protect particularly America’s vulnerable populations
Workforce Development
The United States faces a shortage of skilled workers. The U.S. Labor Department projects that demand nationwide will grow considerably faster over the next decade than the pace of overall job growth.
Export of Water Related Technologies
The U.S. is a world leader in developing water products and technologies. IAPMO supports programs and policies that remove technical barriers to trade and that facilitate the growth of trade and manufacturing.
Access to water and sanitation is a human right.
The international Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation (IWSH) is committed to bringing industry and government together to tackle this enormous issue.
